Short answer: Mozambique’s main diving areas are the Inhambane Coast around Tofo, Ponta do Ouro in the south and the Bazaruto Archipelago. Conditions are ocean conditions — surge, currents and visibility vary — and marine life encounters are never guaranteed.

Tofo and the Inhambane Coast
Tofo is the best-known dive village, with Guinjata and Závora as quieter options. Launches are often through the surf.
Ponta do Ouro
Ponta do Ouro lies within the Ponta do Ouro Partial Marine Reserve, and reserve rules apply to dives and ocean activities.
Bazaruto Archipelago
The Bazaruto Archipelago offers snorkelling and diving inside the national park.
Safety and responsible diving
Dive within your limits: Dive only with qualified operators, bring your certification and check your insurance covers diving.
Marine life: Do not touch, chase or feed marine animals; follow the operator’s briefing and reserve rules.

- Is marine reserve or park fee included?
- Is equipment serviced, and is emergency oxygen carried on the boat?
