The Inhambane Coast stretches along the Indian Ocean from Závora in the south to Pomene in the north. Its best-known beaches, Tofo and Barra, sit on the peninsula east of Inhambane town.

The coast is known for diving and for ocean life such as whale sharks and manta rays, while Inhambane itself is a historic port town facing Maxixe across the bay.

Tofo

Barra lies at the northern tip of the Inhambane peninsula, a short distance north of Tofo. Its beaches face both the open ocean and the sheltered estuary side of the peninsula. Read the Barra guide.

Inhambane

Guinjata
